Myongji University

A concept promotional site for Myongji University that flies visitors through the real Seoul and Yongin campuses in 3D.

The idea

University websites tend to open with a slideshow and a menu of departments. We wanted a page a prospective student would actually scroll through: one that explains what the name means, shows where the two campuses are and how they connect, and ends at the college they might join.

What we built

A single scrolling story in four chapters.

  • Name. Myongji is written 明知, “bright” and “know”. The opening chapters turn that into the page’s visual language, with a hero of moving light and a section that sharpens as you move the cursor.
  • Campus. A 3D flight built from real map data. It starts at the Seoul humanities campus, follows the road across the Han River and lands at the Yongin natural sciences campus, stopping at each official building with its name and a short description.
  • Values. Love, truth and service, the university’s founding values, each given a full screen.
  • Colleges. All thirteen colleges on a curved carousel, labelled by campus.
